About Me/ Company

I am a friendly, caring, reliable and responsible 27 year old animal lover. I have worked with animals for 9 years. I am currently training as a dog groomer which I do part time at a salon in Carlisle. I have studied a degree in animal welfare which has given me a very good knowledge of practical animal care, veterinary health and behaviour. I have worked with a wide range of species including dogs, cats, small mammals, exotics, large animals and horses. I have experience with fish and birds but not as much. I have had my own pets from a young age including horses, dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, mice, birds and fish. I have a very good knowledge of animal care and individual housing, care and dietary requirements for different species. I have a good eye for an animals health status and can pick up any problems easily. I have a good understanding of animal behaviour and have learned effective training techniques based on the animals natural behaviour.

Previous Experience

I have worked full time as an animal welfare technician for 3 years and before that I worked with horses for several years as a part time groom and rider. I am experienced with horses and am a competent rider. I have been a dog walker and sitter in my spare time before and thoroughly enjoy it. The dogs seemed very happy and the owners were very pleased. I am experienced with many different breeds, temperaments and behaviours. Especially from dog grooming as it seems to bring out the worst in any dog! I have experience in behaviour and training too.

I can board dogs and small mammals. Separately of course! I have a large garden and outdoor run for rabbits, guinea pigs and a large indoor cage for rats, chinchillas etc.

My working hours are flexible so I do not have to leave your pet alone. I can give lots of love affection and care to your animal and will go to any lengths to ensure the animal is happy, healthy and stress free. It is important that I get background information to tend to individual health and dietary requirements. I also like to get to know the individual as every animal is unique.
