About Me/ Company

I currently work full time during term time, but as a dog lover I am seeking casual work looking after and/or walking dogs. I will be available for walking dogs during the school holidays (Christmas, Easter and Summer).

While you are on holiday, I am willing to look after your dog in your home in any location (up to two weeks in the summer, up to one week over christmas and Easter and for a weekend during term-time).

Previous Experience

I worked at Three Jays Kennels in South Wales several years ago. This was a boarding kennel for owners going on holiday, hospital stay etc. Duties were mainly walking the dogs but also included cleaning kennels, providing bedding, feeding (and adhering to any special dietary requests) and washing/grooming dogs.

I have walked all breeds and sizes and adjusted the pace and distance to suit the dog's needs i.e. slower pace for older dogs, willing to run and/or play ball with energetic dogs etc.

Occasionally I walked more than one dog at a time (dogs who came to the kennels from the same household), but I am more used to walking one dog at a time. I am willing to walk more than one dog but I would prefer to limit myself to two large, or three small/medium dogs.

I used to walk and wash dogs at the local boarding kennels when I was a student. I started at 6:30am and the money was terrible; but I didn’t care. I did it for the love of it. I didn’t even mind having to clean out every kennel, because working with dogs in the great outdoors AND having a bit of pocket money to boot made it all worth it.

Years later, I now work in education. This means that I am fully available during the school holidays (Christmas, Easter and summer). I would love to spend some of this free time working with animals again.

For pet-owners wanting to go on holiday, I can provide the love and attention your pet needs while you are away. I am available during each of the school holidays, and on weekends (I am happy to work weekends for you to have a weekend trip once in a while, but unfortunately I cannot offer my services as a regular weekend sitter/walker – i.e. every weekend).

I can look after any animal and reptile except snakes! Sorry!

As a hamster owner, I am used to handing small animals, cleaning their cages, feeding, and playing with them. I have experience in walking and washing dogs, and also in looking after cats and rabbits. I have owned cats (three at the same time) so I know how varied their personalities can be!

I also have experience in riding horses, so I will be able to exercise your horse while you are away.
