Welcome to GIDDYAUNT - MOBILE PET CARE. My name is Helen McCann and I qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 1996. I offer a range of services that can be tailored to suit you and your pets needs including:

Dog walking
Puppy visits
Older dog/convalescing pet visits
Cat sitting
Caged/Small Pet Sitting
Micro chipping – cats, dogs and rabbits
Nail clipping for dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs

Previous Experience

ABOUT ME:

I have a lot of experience with animals spanning back to my very first voluntary job at 14 years old with the RSPCA in Gateshead. In 1995 after working as a Veterinary Nursing Auxiliary in small animal practice for 3 years I gained the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons qualification in Veterinary Nursing.

Satisfying the need to expand my knowledge of animal world I embarked on a B.Sc (Hons) degree in Zoology at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne where I enjoyed a (some would say unhealthy) fascination in the symmetry of butterfly markings – long story. I graduated in 1997 and travelled to beautiful Somerset to work as a Veterinary Nurse for the RSPCA at their Wildlife Rehabilitation Unit in West Hatch, Taunton.

After 2 years the North East beckoned and I moved back home and spent a further 5 years working as a qualified Veterinary Nurse in private practice with small animals.

Back to the present day. After trying something completely different – working for Durham Constabulary – I made the decision to follow my head and my heart and use all the skills and knowledge I’ve gained to provide a dog walking and pet care service and GIDDYAUNT- MOBILE PET CARE was born.
