About Me/ Company
I am an outgoing person and easy to get on with. I work well in teams as well as on my own and I’m polite to all I meet. I keep myself well groomed and I am a punctual and reliable person. I am hardworking and will give 110% to any task I’m given and I like a challenge. I am always well behaved and honest.
I have completed communication skills which help me interact well with customers, I have also completed key skills, and this is an element of my course that includes general English and vocabulary skills and literacy skills. I have always been interested in animals and am very caring and compassionate towards their needs.
Previous Experience
I have looked after and re-homed several animals over the last few years, enabling them to become confident and happy again with gentle and encouraging care. I have previously been employed for 11 months with Medivet as a patient care assistant, in my time with Medivet I have gained many skills such as basic reception skills and I have gained a basic knowledge of animal management and welfare. Whilst working for Medivet I have also built up my confidence and phone manner enabling me to develop my communication skills and interact with varied customers.. During my employment, I was able to manage my own workload of patients, and prioritise their care and needs. I was given the responsibility of opening the Medivet unit in the mornings and closing in the evenings when my shift was finished. I worked different combinations of shifts between all the Medivet branches and often worked at different units every day. I also regularly escorted patients between branches for medical procedures and treatments. I feel this experience has allowed me to improve my responsibility and work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, improve my time-keeping and has shown me that my true vocation is to care for and nurture animals. I have recently completed a 2 month grooming course at city and Guild’s level at the Animal beauty centre in Bishops Stortford. In my training I have been taught how to bath and dry all types of coats, clipper work, basic scissor styling and hand stripping. Whilst training in the salon many different breeds of dogs come in with different personalities which has helped me to build my confidence in how to handle a number of different dogs in the correct way. This experience has helped me to improve my communication skills with clients, managing a work load and working within a time scale.
