About Me/ Company

I am a polite, experienced and bubbly young lady with a passion for animals. I have owned and been around dogs throughout my life - I grew up with a lovable English setter, as well as my grandparents' German shepherds, West Highland white terriers and boxers; dogs are an integral part to our family! I actively promote animal welfare, especially canine, as I feel very strongly about the subject. I have recently graduated from college and I am taking a gap year out from university, where I will study small animal veterinary nursing.

Previous Experience

In addition to my growing up with dogs [and the subsequent affinity for them], I have completed over 350 hours at a veterinary practice located in Bath as part of a unit remit whilst in my first year of college. This has equipped me with a knowledge of animal health, which I have successfully applied in emergencies. I have also handled dogs and other animals under the supervision of college lecturers and have received positive feedback. I currently attend puppy training and general obedience classes geared towards a positive and humane way to train dogs twice a week as a volunteer. This has given me an insight into canine behaviour, ethology and behaviour modification and has allowed me to interact with many different dogs and people, with varying circumstances and issues.

Qualifications & Training

I have gained Distinction*Distinction*Distinction*, the highest grade attainable and equivalent to three A*s at A-Level, in Level 3 Extended Diploma in Animal Management (Animal Science pathway). The course covers all aspects of domestic and exotic animal care, such as nursing, behaviour, nutrition, husbandry, biology, et cetera. In September 2014, I aim to attend the Royal Veterinary College based in London to study for my veterinary nursing degree.

Relevant Info

I am based in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, although can travel by public transport to the surrounding areas including Westbury, Warminster, Bath, Bradford on Avon, Melksham, Frome, et cetera. I am currently working towards a full driving licence. I am flexible in regards to availability and rates are negotiable. Referees are available upon request, as are my qualification results from the end of July/beginning of August 2013.

I am available for dog sitting, dog care and dog walking. I am also available for holiday sitting at the clients' house. I am experienced with cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, et cetera.
