About Me/ Company

Having lived on a farm from a young age I have grown up with a variety of animals; chickens, horses, cows, fish and even guinea pigs! My brother and I's dream had always been to own our own dogs. We saved up every dollar we could over the years and eventually our dreams turned to reality as our family of 5 turned to 7 as Milo (Australian Shepherd) and Nutmeg (Golden retriever) were welcomed into our pack. They have travelled with us around the world from Australia to Malaysia and now to London. During the times of transition, my dogs have brought joy, humour, love and comfort to my life. I feel they are beautiful animals to learn from in the ways that they teach us to be compassionate, kind, forgiving, loving and overall better humans. I have always enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, whether it be hiking up mountains, exploring nature trails or walking along the beach. I feel as though dogs are the perfect companions to experience natures wonders with us as well as be the motivation we need at times to get out of the house and enjoy the sunshine and fresh air. My passion to provide for those in need as well as my fond adoration of nature leads me to wanting to pursue a career in veterinary science. During my gap year I am hoping to gain more experience in animal health and welfare through working, volunteering as well as being in the presence of animals. Whilst studying the International Baccalaureate I chose both Chemistry and Biology as subjects to learn and found that my passions lied with the animal physiology, cellular biology and organic chemistry units. This confirmed to me my strong adoration for wildlife. I would very much love to be able to support families who need assistance in caring for their furry friends whilst they may be away at work or on holidays! I am confident that my skills and experience with animals will shine through and that I will provide the best care for your puppers!

Previous Experience

I have undertaken several activities and done work experience in multiple places that has allowed me to gain experience handling multiple dogs at once as well as providing each pet with the companionship and exercise that they need to feel healthy and happy. During my time in Malaysia, I did a work placement at the RSPCA caring for both dogs and cats. I took part in campaigning events that encouraged better animal welfare, cared for and nurtured the animals as well as was fortunate enough to foster some puppies before they were ready to be put up for adoption. My strong adoration for animals lead me into becoming a volunteer at the Care for Dogs animal shelter. Through my role as a volunteer I was taught how to reduce the overpopulation of street and temple dogs through spaying programs and local adoptions, I helped in operating a rescue centre for puppies and dogs as well as helped to improve the health status of homeless dogs through vaccinations in cooperation with the veterinary team. Additionally, I have experience caring for dogs of all breeds and sizes, including my own two medium sized dogs who are extremely high maintenance.
