About Me/ Company
Hi I'm Erika and I am a professional dog walker and pet sitter covering North Somerset. I have many years pet ownership experience (specifically cats & dogs) and I am passionate about animals and their wellbeing. I offer tailor-made walks to suit your individual dog's needs and am confident with all shapes and sizes, ages and personalities (including first-hand puppy knowledge and training!). I walk your dog on its own (or all from same household) which I believe offers 100% attention and devotion to your pooch. I myself rescued 2 Labrador boys from the local centre when they were 11 weeks & 6 months old, having previously fostered and rehomed various dogs for the charity - 9 years down the line we are still together and enjoying life to the full! Our days mainly revolve around hiking, playing and companionship, always with lots of muck and mud thrown in (in true Lab style!). I also offer pet-sitting for dogs, cats and smaller animals (rabbits, guinea pigs etc.), for those long work days or just for times when you're unable to be at home, with feeding, affection, play and exercise. I have a business insured estate car, with metal boot guard, cushions and water for longer, more adventurous dog walks, or to transport any of your pets if you're stuck for a lift to the vet etc. I can provide holiday 'check-ins' (for cats and small animals) all in the comfort and familiar surroundings of their own home. DBS certified & public liability insured. Testimonials on request.
Previous Experience
Dog & cat ownership for many years and fostering dogs for local rescue charity.
Qualifications & Training
Canine behavioural issues, specifically fear related aggression - one of my own rescued Labs (who was abused) whom we've been working with for many years, has this issue, for which we use patience and a 'calm assertive' approach. I have had to teach myself by reading many canine & animal psychology books to gain a small insight into my dog's behaviour as I was determined to keep him and not 'dispose' or give-up on him as had happened to him before. We all live a much calmer life now, but it takes determination and consistent daily use of the tools I've learned to maintain his 'happier' state of mind : )
