About Me/ Company

I live in Ardrossan, North Ayrshire, Scotland and love to walk, love dogs and have some time on my hands. I am a person who has grown up around dogs and very much at ease with them. I do believe they are 'mans' best friend'

My family had Old English Sheepdogs ( OES orbobtails) since I was 5 and my sister & I used to go to lots of dog shows with our parents. I got a Bearded Collie (who I called Arran) for my 21st birthday- the best present ever. I had him until his death 10 years later.

Dogs were a big part of the household and at one time we had 5 - including a rescued bobtail. My mother helps run the rescue of OES of Scotland and has been member/committee member and now secretary for 40 years. In that time I have helped with letters, articles and newsletters for the club.

At the moment we have one rescued Old English Sheepdog as part of our family. He is still getting over earlier traumas and we love him to bits.

Previous Experience

I worked for recently at a guesthouse in Crianlarich. On my daily afternoons off I took the pub owner's bearded collie 'Bailey' a long walk. The walks varied and could be local or further away (he loved the car) and were at least an hour but often longer, 3-4 hours not unknown. Although there was a little pavement walking it was mostly in glens, hills or walking tracks. He loved swimming in rivers and jumping in burns too.

I'd prefer to walk one dog at a time but if there were 2 or 3 in the same household which were happy together then I'm happy to consider this. At the end of the day it is the dogs' safety and contentment that I focus on.

Qualifications & Training

I have a good general education of 8 O Grades, 6 Highers, undergraduate degree in boichemistry and postgraduate degree in Psychology.

I have knowledge/expperience gained from my own dogs, attending dog-shows, being involved in clerical stuff for Old English Sheepdog Club of Scotland and 2 years of walking Bailey the Beardie.

Other Services

I would be willing to come and sit with your dog during the day if required and again can draw from my own experience of watching, walking, feeding, playing with parents' dogs when they were away for several hours etc. When they went on holiday, they only ever trusted the dogs with me.
