Here at Doggies Friend we offer a home from home for your pet.

Previous Experience

Doggies' Friend is a family business run by Derrick and Christine Westlake in Nether Heyford, Northampton, situated just off Junction 16 off the M1.
We are both huge animal lovers and, over the years, have kept pets of all descriptions. But our real love is of dogs.
After losing our jobs due to redundancy and also losing our very own dog, Kanga, to old age, we felt that it was high time we did something worthwhile and satisfying​ for a living.
Derrick worked for more than a year walking and boarding dogs for another dog-service provider. We decided, however, that we would like to do this together as our own business to offer an even better service to our customers.
So Doggies' Friend was born.
Our large 40-metre-long back garden is the perfect place for your dog to run around and play in a supervised and safe area.
We also have a large summer house that is specially kitted out for the dogs, with sofas, beds and toys – a perfect retreat for when they want to relax. This is now commonly known as The Dog House, and, yes, we are usually in it too.
We love our job and always find it very satisfying when dogs that have stayed with us cannot wait to get through the gate the next time they come to stay.

Doggie Day Creche

Our Doggies' Day Creche is an ideal way to ensure your dog is not left all alone while you are at work, or maybe you just want to go out for the day without worrying about your dog being stuck in the house while you're out having fun.

Here at Doggies' Friend we have a large 40-metre-long garden with a huge 18ft summer house, for when the weather is not so great. The summer house is kitted out with all the home comforts for your dogs – sofas, comfy dog beds and lots of toys for all sizes of pooches.
At the Creche there is always someone there to make sure your dog is safe and happy. It's great for their social skills, too, as they have other dogs to play with.

Dog Home Boarding

All of your dogs stay with us in our own home, and we do our best to make sure they are as comfortable as they are when they're with you. They will often be sharing their sleeping area in our kitchen with other dogs that are also holidaying with us and be joining in the fun with the day creche dogs during the day. In the evening they will be with us in the lounge watching TV and enjoying lots of cuddles.

Each day your dog will be taken on a minimum walk of one hour. We have lots of toys to play with here and usually our dogs are so tired after a hard day's play, they won't have time to miss you!

We make sure your dogs feels that they are part of our family and treat our home just like their own.​

CAT AND PET HOME VISITS

his is great for small puppies, cats, sick animals or any other pets you may have at home. We can go into your house to feed them, let them out in the garden, give them medication or simply just check to see they’re okay while giving them a fuss and a cuddle.

If you’re a cat owner and going away on holiday then this service means they can stay at home in comfort rather than putting them in the sometimes stressful environment of a cattery. Plus, with the low price of our home visits, comparable to that which you’d pay at a cattery, you get the best of both worlds. It also does away with the hassle of having to drop off and collect your pet at set times and reduces the stress your cat may experience when travelling in the car. Any other pets you may have, such as rabbits or fish, can be taken care of too, and it’s all included in the cost of a home visit.
