Growing up on a dairy farm, has given me the opportunity to live and work with animals on a daily basis. This invaluable experience has provided me with the neccassary skills required, to advance my knowledge and passion for animals and their welfare. I offer you a hardworking and reliable individual, who enjoys working as a part of a team and independently and will always work to the best of her ability, to ensure all tasks are completed to the highest standards.
Previous Experience
Currently I am volunteering for the RSPCA. I have learnt a lot in the small Animal Centre of Great Ayton, North Yorkshire. They have a huge kennels, Cattery, a small animal house and an aviary. Currently working in the Kennels, my main duties involves letting out the dogs first thing, prepare food and kennel cleaning. Then I undertake general duties. This job enables me to work in a small team and helps me to improve on my customer care skills as well as animal care skills.
8/8/2011 to 22/11/2011. Aquatics Finactics Pet Shop (Volunteer) my main responsibilities where to provide fresh food, water and fresh bedding to all animals. To make sure the shop was clean and tidy for customers and staff, to receive deliveries of fish and to place them into the correct tanks and to feed them accordingly. I also had to clean the fish tanks when requested. Further duties involved repairing fences, gardening, and stock up on shop items and pricing them and to check on the general welfare of Aquatic, Exotic, Domestic and Farm livestock animals that came to the shop.
5/1/2009 - 22/72011. JC & CE Flintoff, Doddle Hill Farm, Poultry Stock Person and a Domestic Worker. My main responsibilities at Doddle Hill Farm included feeding the chickens, ensuring the feed hoppers where running manually, collecting fresh free range eggs, grading and stack eggs and looking out for the general welfare of the chickens. Working as a Poultry Stock Person, I have gained knowledge and experience in disease control, general maintenance of a poultry unit and the ability to grade and stack eggs in an accurate and orderly fashion. Further responsibilities included gardening and domestic house hold choirs.
2011 Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, Kangaroo Island, Australia. (Volunteer) I volunteered for 2 weeks. My main responsibilities where to ensure the kangaroos, wallabies and birds at the sanctuary had fresh food and water and to ensure their accommodation was clean and tidy. Further responsibilities included maintaining the fences and the koala walk for the public and assisting with the organization of the nocturnal tours. Other duties involved weeding, planting trees and making nest boxes. I also worked as a sales assistant to the public at the sanctuary.
2008 Neil and Michelle Bellerby, Ox Close Farm. I worked part time milking goats on a busy Farm. My main duties where to milk the goats and to bottle feed the kid goats.
2008 Flamingo Land (National Diploma, Day Release) Working in the zoo area at Flamingo land gave me the opportunity to work with wild animals and birds such as penguins, giraffes and parrots. Duties included feeding and cleaning out the animals.
2008, Monk Park Farm (National Diploma, Day Release) my main roles where to ensure the animals had food, water and to maintain fences around the park. I also supervised school groups within the guinea pig area at Monk Park Farm and performed general husbandry tasks.
2007, Picton Manor Farm (National Diploma, Day Release) my main roles involved assisting with the milking of the cows twice a day and feeding the calves. I was responsible for checking the cows had food, water and fresh bedding and steam cleaned the milking equipment after milking times. I also had the opportunity to assist with calving cows. Other duties included updating paper work and registering births, deaths and cattle movements with CTS online. Practical skills I achieved, whilst working on the farm included: operating farm machinery such as a tractor, loader, chain harrow and a roller.
FURTHER WORKS EXPERIENCE
2010 Young Farmers Club, (Great Smeaton) I joined the Great Smeaton young farmers to enhance my farming knowledge and to socialize with members of the farming community. During my time at young farmers, I have participated in stock judging and arts and craft days. I have also assisted with the organizing of events and attended talks with farming professions.
2005 Clowbeck Boarding Kennels and Cattery (First Diploma in Animal Care, Day Release) I worked at the boarding kennels and cattery whilst studying for my First Diploma in Animal Care. My duties where to walk the dogs, clean out their accommodation and to provide fresh food and water twice and day. Other duties involved bathing the dogs when asked and playing with them. I gained experience working with many different dog breeds and had to consider their dietary requirements and exercise. I would also provide the cats with fresh food and water and ensured they received care and attention at regular intervals of the day.
2004 Blue Cross Centre, Topcliffe, as a works experience placement at Northallerton College, I worked for 2 weeks at the Blue Cross Centre and Duties included dog walking, kennel cleaning and animal food preparation.

Askham Bryan College in 2006 to 2008 I was awarded a National Diploma in Animal Management. Achieved Distinction, Distinction, Merit Grade. (Resident student)
Askham Bryan College in 2005 to 2006 I was awarded a First Diploma in Animal Care in which I achieved a Merit Grade.(resident student)
Northallerton College in 2003 to 2005 I achieved 8 GCSEs:

Relevant Info
I have 2 dogs of my own a Jack Russel and a Border Collie so I know what it is like to walk dogs every day. I have also worked in a variety of Kennels and animal charities. I can assure you that I am the right person for the job given my experiences, training and education. I am keen to learn new experiences when they arise. Please do consider my application.
