About Me/ Company
Hey, I'm Carys I live in North Yorkshire and I am 18 years old - I have a full driving lisence so travel arrangements are not a problem. I have always had a passion for animals, due to my parents I've never owned my own dog. I often look after family and friend's animals and own several small animals myself. I have many interests including phtoography, childcare, journalism, music and of course - animals. I often babysit and have stayed over-night a few times, and I often babysit during the day for families who have younger children and have jobs themselves.
Previous Experience
My first real work experience incorparating dog care was when I was 15, I was required to take a two-week work experience placement whilst I was at school, I chose a dog kennels and cattery in my Village just outside of Wetherby (Paws'n'Claws Pet Hotel - Tockwith). I learnt to clean the animals and the cages, cater for a variety of personal needs (some animals were on medication or needed specific care for physical problems such as joint stiffness/pain), as well as general customer service and how to run such a business, 2 months later I was offered a part-time summer temp job and worked there a few days a week walking the dogs and caring for them, until september when the season ended. This was a really enjoyable job, but I wanted to try out a few areas in the animal world so I began volunteering at a vets that I had also spent a week of work placement at the year before, (Vets'4'Pets Harrogate). This role encorparated everything from cleaning the operating theatre and equiptment, to filing documents, caring for the animals who were in over-night or young animals without parents, etc. I did so for four months, every saturday whilst I was in my first year of sixth form, and stopped this when my end of year exams required more revision and time.
Qualifications & Training
I have just completed my two years at sixth form (St Aidans, Harrogate)and I gained 3 A2 levels; English literature & Psychology - C, Photography - A.
I also have 13 A-C GCSE's, which I gained at King James School, Knaresborough.
