About Me/ Company
Welcome to Bristol Dog Walker service! My name is Maggie James and I run East Bristol's premier dog walking service.
Are you away from home during any part of the day and concerned that your dog is alone and without access to a daily walk? I can help. I offer a dog walking service, designed to give your dog company and walkies. He/she will receive a full hour of walking time in the company of other dogs, and return home happy and well exercised. As well as walking my canine charges, I have a variety of toys and balls to ensure that we have plenty of fun during our time together.
Price £9 for one hour, £16.00 for two walks per day.
Additional dogs from the same household £7 for one hour, £12 for two walks a day.
Weekend walks £14 per hour, £12 for any additional dog from the same household.
Rates for Bank Holidays, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day - add 50%.
After an initial free of charge consultation at your home I will agree a regular or one-off time to collect your dog(s). I will walk him/her in the company of other dogs for a full hour, using balls and other doggy toys to ensure a lot of fun is had by all!
If you are not at home when I pick up or drop off your dog(s), I will let myself in to your house, collect and drop off your pet(s), and ensure the house is securely locked behind me - including setting any alarms as required.
I will initially aim to walk dogs individually (excepting where there are multiple dogs from the same household). This is to enable me to get to know the dog, and vice versa, and to ensure I can devote enough attention to each individual dog. After a few walks, with the agreement of the owners, I will walk your dog with my other doggy clients. I use biodegradable poo bags and aim to clean up as soon as possible after every "event", provided I can get to it!
All walks are initially on the lead. This is to avoid any potential problems with recall as the dogs get to know the walkers. Walks off the lead are possible but generally only after a few on-lead walks, and only when the owner and the walker agree. Prior to walking any pet for the first time, the owner will need to complete a simple authorisation form, and to provide contact numbers, and vet details in the event of a problem.
Unlike some pet sitting/dog walking services, I use an unmarked vehicle to collect/drop off your dog. This is an advantage because the use of a sign-written van by a pet-sitting service signals to would-be burglars that your home is unattended, and that the resident guard dog is also absent! I offer a discreet service, thus minimising the risks to your home and valuables.
Previous Experience
A little about me. I've always loved dogs and have had plenty of experience caring for other people's dogs. I set up Bristol Dog Walker so that I could spend time making new canine friends whilst running a business. I pride myself on being reliable and conscientious; you can rest assured that your pet will be well taken care of whilst with me.
Qualifications & Training
I have completed the Dog Walkers Certificate course from the British College of Canine, I have been police checked and am fully insured.
Relevant Info
"Maggie is very reliable and does a great job. She is a very honest, caring and trustworthy person who genuinely cares for the pets entrusted to her.
Maggie has been walking my Jack Russell, Penny, for some time now and Penny loves her visits for walks and for playtime in the garden. When I am at work during the day I know that Penny will enjoy Maggie’s visit, and that she will be well looked after.
I would highly recommend Maggie, an absolute pleasure to deal with and always accommodating on our requirements".
