About Me/ Company

I'm a lifelong dog owner with a specialism in sighthounds - greyhounds, lurchers, salukis, deerhounds, whippets etc. I also specialise in rescued, nervous or traumatised dogs with past 'baggage'. I have owned 6 greyhounds, 2 azawakhs, 3 lurchers and one very ill doberman in my life and was raised with Cavalier King Charles spaniels.

I adore dogs and have just written en e-book about how to choose the right dog for a lifetime of joy and am developing my website www.howtochooseyourdog.com

I'm incredibly active and live for walking my own dogs in Staffordshire (I live in Rugeley), and at weekends you'll often find me in the Peak District with the two lurchers Kylah and Arwen and old boy greyhound Vinnie.

I've just relocated to Staffordshire and I'm looking for some part-time work to contribute to the new house with my partner. I thought as I love dogs that some dog walking and some dog sitting would be ideal.

Previous Experience

I have owned 8 rescue dogs in the last 20 years and am a true dog person. I've had experience of the trials and traumas of rehabilitating rescue dogs with Evesham Greyhound and Lurcher rescue, and my own rescue hounds, been a dog breeder and for the last 5 years have 'womaned' a breed stand at Crufts and Discover Dogs. I'm used to dealing with the day to day issues that owning dogs throws up - including throwing up on the carpet! I've got tons of general dog experience but most of all I am a true dog person and a heart and soul dog lover. I was born that way and I'll be that way forever.

Qualifications & Training

I don't have any academic qualifications in dog ownership or care, but I've been looking after my own dogs now for almost 20 years, and know a lot about handling dogs in general, as well as knowledge about dog breeds and crossbreeds, inlcuding low allergy dogs. Having been schooled in general dog 'issues', a multitude of illnesses and vet visits, training and so on, I've a lot of experience to offer.

All my dogs get on with other dogs and I am happy to walk all dogs as a group if that works for you. If you have a young boisterous dog or dogs, my girls will happily oblige with some play time to run off their steam!
