About Me/ Company

Hello, welcome to Barking Mad Wigan. I have been devoted to dogs my entire life, I have never been without them. We currently have 2 rescue dogs, Mollie & Milo.
I live within the Wigan Borough with my husband, Lee, and our 2 daughters, Chloe and Megan. My background is retail, having done that for over 20 years since leaving school, I needed a change and Barking Mad came along at just the right time for me in the summer of 2017.
I have worked hard to build up the business within the local area to what it is now, with many wonderful dogs and their owners who come back to me time after time.
At the start of 2020, I launched new services due to customer demand. Those include Solo Dog Walking, Drop-In Home Visits, Dog Minding and Pet Taxi. I also run regular Play Dates for up to 4 dogs in a fully enclosed, secure field.
During lockdown, I expanded on my existing knowledge on Animal Nutrition and completed a course focused on Canine Nutrition. From this, I now offer free 15-minute telephone advice as well as a more advanced Canine Nutrition Consultation service.
I also completed an advanced Canine First Aid Course.
I am constantly wanting to expand my knowledge base around dogs, so watch this space!
I am licensed with Wigan Council and West Lancs Council for the arrangement and provision of Dog Home Boarding.
I hold comprehensive insurance and am DBS checked.

Previous Experience

I have 7 years professional experience within the Pet Industry, 3 years of being Barking Mad Wigan.
I am Canine First Aid trained, Canine Nutrition trained, I have experience with anxious and leash reactive dogs plus experience with visually impaired dogs.
I am comprehensively insured, DBS checked and licensed with my local councils.
I am always learning and expanding my skillset.
