About Me/ Company

Hi, I'm April.
I decided at the end of last year (October 2019) that I was finally going to pursue my dream of working with animals, and the perfect way to do that was to start dog walking/pet sitting.
I genuinely love what I do and wish I'd taken the leap sooner.

Previous Experience

I currently walk 5 dogs, all of whom are dog reactive so have to be walked solo (apart from the two that live together). Most of the dogs I walk have at least 3 walks per week and are a mix of 30 minutes and a hour.
I regularly cat sit too and have a couple of repeat clients for when they go on holiday.

Qualifications & Training

Although I don't have any formal qualifications as yet, I am booked onto a Canine behaviour course in June and I'm delving into any and all books I can find on positive reinforcement training for dogs. I've already learned a lot through reading Sally Gutteridge and her experiences, techniques and tips for working with reactive dogs. I also have my own rescue dog Dexter, who has recently come home with us, who is extremely reactive to other dogs and people. He has taught me a lot!

Other Services

As well as dog walking, I offer a pet sitting service. I can either pop in for daily visits (once or twice a day) or stay at your house for the duration of the booking.
