Thank you very much for allowing me the opportunity of looking after your pet.

As one would expect of any owner, you would wish to know more about me; after all, I will be entering your home when you are not there so trustworthiness would be paramount in your mind. I totally agree. With this in mind, therefore, I have prepared a short resume for you to put your mind at ease.

Early years

I was educated at Dumbarton Academy, formerly, a state grammar school in my home town of Dumbarton in Scotland. (The birthplace of ‘The Cutty Sark’) After leaving sixth form, I embarked upon a career in the Civil Service where I remained for a number of years before moving to the private sector.

Subsequent years

My career path took many routes over many years in the private sector: security consultant, commercial manager, warehouse manager and team leader for an engineering consultancy. In 2002, I returned to the public sector retiring as project and operations manager at Transport for London in 2008. With no prospect of continuing my career in projects and operations and after a couple of minor jobs in retail, I decided that it was time to reassess where I was going and what I wanted to do. After discussing with a friend, the possibility of working with animals, Apollo Pet Services became a reality. I started Apollo Pet Services in August 2013 and am slowly building up a strong customer base.

APOLLO PET SERVICES

There are many pet services available on the market from franchises to sole operators. I fall into the latter category. I am very particular about my service placing your pet(s) firmly at the heart of my service. I do not do multiple collections from various owners, preferring to look after your pet(s) on a personal, one-to-one basis.(Multiple care of up to 6 dogs from one owner, however, is acceptable) This allows me to get to know your pet and to develop a close bond that will last throughout its lifetime. I get on extremely well with all my charges and I am confident their owners will verify this. My service also extends to hamsters and other small pets.

My fees are in line with market rates and I am confident that you will be pleased that your money is being put to good use and that your pet(s) is/are being well looked after and happy. I operate within the following postcode areas: KT1-24, SM1-6, RH1-2 and SW19-20 and am very flexible regarding customer requirements. I am fully insured, CRB checked and can provide references from existing customers as well as personal references from past employers.

I operate by appointment only. An initial meeting is arranged with the owner prior to any agreement being undertaken to allow peace of mind and to confirm my trustworthiness. If the owner is satisfied and I am satisfied with the owner, I meet the pet(s).

I ask the owner to complete a short questionnaire on the background and general health of their pet(s) including, (in respect of dogs) likes and dislikes; friendliness towards others; favourite walking places; emergency contact numbers and vet details. I ask this in order that I can provide maximum care, love and attention to the pet.

I am available from 0700 – 2000 daily but am willing to accommodate outside these hours if requested.

Previous Experience

As a pet lover who has enjoyed the pleasure of both dogs and cats for over 30 years, I can assure you of the best possible experience for your pet. My philosophy is quite simple, ‘Your pet, my priority’.

In the past, I have owned a German Shepherd (KC registered), Beagle and two Labradors. I have also had two cats. At present, I am looking after a Labrador, Jack Russells (Two customers), two Bischin Frise, Chihuahuas, two cats, three guinea pigs, hamster and a goldfish.
