About Me/ Company

I am a single professional woman of "mature" years and live in Somerset, with the counties of Dorset and Wiltshire within comfortable reach. In relation to dog walking / sitting / daycare, my daily availability can be flexible. I have my own 4x4 vehicle and am willing to travel longer distances for short break and holiday sitting in your home, which understandably would be subject to mutual arrangements being made in advance.

Previous Experience

I have been a pet owner since acquiring my own home some 25 years ago, but as I have always been employed on a full-time basis, I went for a "cat or two", which evolved into a family of Siamese, Persian and non pedigree cats, subsequently undertaking cat showing for some 10 years, which gave me a good grounding/insight into all aspects of animal care and welfare. With the passing of time, I now just have the one cat, who decided that she preferred my home to her original owner’s!
I live in a rural location and came to dog walking some 6 years ago, by offering to walk the dogs belonging to a previous employer, who worked very long hours within the hospitality industry. One dog was a Siberian Husky cross, rather “slow on the uptake” having to be kept on an extended lead and the other a Collie, a young, athletic and very obedient dog, which came to the call whilst off the lead. I walked the same dogs for four and a half years and with the “correct handling”, we established a rapport with one another, walking as one unit and as with most rural locations, experience was gained by us all as to road safety / awareness, behaviour around farm animals and horses.
Having been employed and registered self employed for the past eight years, I have now “given up the day job”, which allows me more time to walk dogs. I am currently walking / training a five month old Shih Tzu, belonging to an elderly gentleman, which has never been outside a garden environment until three weeks ago!
