About Me/ Company

Hello!

I'm Alisha, I'm a 19 year old, who has just finished studying an Animal Nursing and Welfare Diploma.
Topics we have already covered involve First Aid, Anatomy & Physiology, Infection Control, Feeding & Accommodation, basic nursing and handling and restraint.

Currently, we are taking the grooming section of the course, so hopefully I will get some physical experience with many different types of coat.

Alongside the theory, I also have experience with:
- farm animals such as goats, chickens, donkeys and pigs, including hoof care.
- birds, I have a parrot currently but have also tended to budgies, canaries, cockatiels and doves
- reptiles, such as snakes, beardies, geckos, tortoises, I have even tweezer fed a monitor and fed and cleaned a green iguana. They are massive.
- exotics, such as tarantulas, axelotls, terrapins
- small mammals, like rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, sugar gliders, chinchillas

I have also spent a year volunteering at a rescue centre that rehomed dogs and cats. This has given me incredible experience with reading body language and basic training with both animals. I have been able to give medications and have first-hand experience with diseases/illnesses like FIV, hyperthyroidism, mange, roundworm, as well as stress, overgrooming and resource issues.

On another note, I have some experience with very young kittens and puppies, and animals that have just been neutered or had operations.

I have also recently done a mini-course on brachycephalic dogs and their common ailments.
