Hello! My name is Alex and I am a 21 year old consumer psychology student at Bangor university. During term time I live in central Bangor, Gwynedd.
I am largely looking for summer work in my local area of Merseyside, most specifically the Wirral area, however I am also able to move to the Crosby area easily. I am happy to live in with pets anywhere in Merseyside, or as far as Chester.
I am polite, clean, reliable and always punctual.
I am happy to work with any breed, several dogs at once, Cat care, and even pets suffering from a disability. I am happy to live in or just provide daily walks and feeding. I am capable of strict lead walking or free runs with dogs. I believe it is vital that pets are able to live in their own homes throughout holidays in order to keep them relaxed in their own environments.
Previous Experience
I have a wealth of personal experience having spent my whole life around a range of dogs. My family currently owns two male Great Danes, both rescues. The youngest, Bailey, is both completely deaf and struggles with only having partial vision, but is a charming and loving dog regardless. Having been rescued from a violent and neglectful owner, he is often nervous and a bit of a handful, especially with strangers. He also lost the use of one of his back legs for many years due to mistreatment, and as a family we have worked hard to help him recover his ability to walk properly with constant physical therapy. My experience with him has taught me a lot about caring for dogs with special needs, especially how new dogs need to be approached by strangers in their home.
Our other dog, Archie, was re-homed from owners who couldn't care for such a large boy, and never walked him. This meant he required many hours of lead training and walk behaviours.
I have spent many of my younger years caring for friends and neighbours dogs of varying sizes and temperaments while they were away. I have also done plenty of work caring for cats and other smaller pets.
