About Me/ Company

well I have 2 dogs at home one is my fathers and one is mine. My dogs are both aged nearly 8 years old. Between me and my father we have 1 cocker spaniel called Rumble and 1 springer spaniel called Ned. I have a Foundation NVQ Level 1 in small and large animal care qualification , A Foundation Modern Apprenticeship NVQ Level 2 In Small Animal Care and Dog Grooming qualification and I have an NVQ Level 2 Animal Care qualification (Specialising In Exotics And Wildlife). Since May 2015 I have been employed as a Bank Healthcare Assistant working in a Residential and Nursing home caring for the elderly and dementia nursing in Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire and I work for a company called Excel Care. I have been a carer for 7 years now. Before I started working for Excel Care I was employed as a Bank Support Worker working in a residential care home in Cottenham in Cambridgeshire Uk working for a company called Caretech Community Services LTD and I was caring for 5 adults with profound and severe learning disabilities and severe physical disabilities. Before working for Caretech Community Services I worked a 5 or 6 month stint working for a company called Allied Healthcare Limited and working as a Health Care Assistant in the community going to peoples own homes looking after old people with dementia and young adults with physical disabilties. Before working for Allied Healthcare LTD I worked for a company called Healthcare Homes Ltd for over 4 years and I worked in two of their old peoples homes one residential care home called Home Meadow Toft LTD and another residential care home called The Hillings LTD. Once a week on Wednesdays I used volunteer for a charity called Red 2 Green which is a charity that provides day care for adults with mental health issues and learning disabilties and the charity is based in swaffham Bulbeck in cambridgeshire. I also recently in the past started to study a home based Level 3 Course in Domestic Animal Care course but that has been put on hold for now. My main ambition is to really try and get a full time paid job working as an animal carer but I have discovered is not possible for me unless I study a BTECH In Animal Management qualification which would be to difficult for me to be able to do because I can not pass exams so instead I ended out in the care industry to which I am doing very well in.

Previous Experience

The previous 8 years before I started working in the Human Care industry I was working as a volunteer caring for various different animals in various zoos, wildlife parks, animal welfare charities, animal farms and boarding kennels and catteries doing general animal husbandry duties.

Qualifications & Training

I have a Foundation NVQ Level 1 in small and large animal care qualification studied at The College Of West Anglia At Milton in Cambridgeshire, A Foundation Modern Apprenticeship NVQ Level 2 In Small Animal Care and Dog Grooming qualification studied at Shuttleworth College in Bedfordshire alongside working for the Animal Charity Woodgreen Animal Shelters doing work at Both the Godmanchester shelter and at the Heydon shelter and I also have an NVQ Level 2 Animal Care qualification
(Specialising In Exotics And Wildlife) studied through The College Of Animal Welfare At Wood Green Animal Shelter in Godmanchester alongside working at Linton Zoo in Cambridgeshire as a volunteer trainee zoo keeper.

Relevant Info

I have allergies to Latex, zinc, Elastoplast, diclofenac anti-inflammatory tablets and Metronidazole antibiotic tablets. I have been suffering from excema and contact dermatitis since 1995 when I was 13 years old. I have also been suffering with a learning disability called Dyspraxia since 1990 when I was 8 years old and my Dyspraxia affects my balance, hand eye coordination skills, concentration skills, listening skills and understanding skills and my capacity to be able to take in lots of complicated information or instructions that might have been given to me. I was diagnosed with moderately severe depressions and anxiety in January 2015. In May 2014 I was diagnosed with a condition called Costochondritis which is swelling and inflammation of all the cartilages and intercostal muscles in my chest that connect to the breast bone and also with acid reflux and with chronic daily headaches. The Costochondritis and acid reflux have gone but I still suffer from the headaches. In June 2015 I was diagnosed with a T12 vertebral compression wedge fracture and with severe generalised anxiety disorder. I July 2015 I was diagnosed with a condition called neurological functional complaints or fugue states which is where your brain cells tell your body that it needs to shut down as if there is something wrong even though there isn't and I suffer as a result from complete loss of tone, sensation and movement everywhere in my body apart from my face and left arm. I have been suffering from sciatica since 2011. My dog jumped up at me the other day and he knocked me over and I went flying and I conked my head and my back solidly on the concrete terrace in my garden at home and as a result I now have a trapped nerve and swelling and inflammation around my spine where the fracture was that has healed. My legs and my right arm are now permanently partially paralysed . I cannot walk very far and I use a wheelchair to get around longer distances. I am not working at the moment because of my health stopping me from being able to work. I can walk people's dogs within 15 - 20 minutes driving distance to Willingham in Cambridgeshire UK.
