About Me/ Company

Dear Clients,

My name is Fabio Perini. I was born in Rome 43 years ago and lived there for 30 years. In 1997 moved to London with work (Texaco, the oil company) and worked in Canary Wharf until 2008.

In 2007 I decided to pursue a life long ambition to study Animal Behaviour. I decided to do it at the Natural Animal Centre (NAC) in South Wales, where Heather Simpson runs qualifications attended, amongst many others, by the Training and Behavioural Advisors (TBA's) from Dogs Trust.
I started part time first, then in August 2008 I decided to resign from my corporate job of 17 years to take a year sabbatical and study full time. I have attended the Bach Flower Practitioner course for Animals (the only one in the world accredited by the Bach Centre in Oxfordshire), the Canine Behavioural Qualification and the Feline Behavioural Qualification.
All those courses include the latest scientific research in behavioural science and are based on the Master in Animal Behaviour of the University of Southampton. All the above mentioned qualifications include very comprehensive welfare modules.
While the teaching content at the NAC is of the highest quality, I believe that no behavioural expert has yet grasped the holy grail of animal behaviour, and therefore it's important to learn from many reputable sources to try and put together the pieces of the jigsaw!
In fact I'm presently studying with the Clever Dog Company of Sarah Whitehead (famous behaviourist and writer for Dog's Today magazine) and will hopefully qualify soon so to start my Puppy classes with the Clever Dog Company franchise

Previous Experience

On the practical side, here below is a non comprehensive list of my experience with cats and dogs:

1. I gained a lot of experience in Schutzhund and I.P.O. training with German and Italian trainers, judges and conductors and participated to SCH1 and IPO1 competitions with Dobermann and Boxers

2. I've handled Dobermanns and Boxers in the show ring, as well as Scottish Deerhounds and Basset Hounds

3. I've owned many Boxers and Dobermanns and I presently own two rescue Dobermanns

4. I volunteered as a dog walker for RSPCA Millbrook, in Chobham Surrey. I also helped the local behaviourist with some cases.

4. I experienced the work of Dr. Roger Mugford’s team as an assistant trainer at the Animal Behaviour Centre (http://www.companyofanimals.co.uk/abc.php) where I attended a number of training courses with my dogs.

5. I had semi-feral cats for most of my life: I'm from Rome where semi-feral cat colonies are the norm all over the city. During the summer holidays at college I worked as a volunteer in various sanctuaries across the city, helping with various tasks like: catching feral cats, taking them to the Vet for neutering, administration of drugs, etc., etc.
