How does Dog Walking Now work?

DogWalkingNow.co.uk provides a quick, simple and effective way for dog owners to find the ideal person and for walkers/sitters to find work. Dog Owners can either place adverts on our site for members to apply for, or search our database and contact individual members directly.

What do I get for my membership?

When you subscribe to Dog Walking Now you get your very own promotional page where you can detail your history, experience, skills, qualifications, and references along with any photo's or videos so that Dog Owners can really get to see who you are. (You can also use the link for your page to send out to people to promote yourself). You also, most importantly, gain access to all the latest jobs which you can apply for with just one click of a button!

I have no experience, can I join?

Absolutely! Different owners look for different things in their walkers/sitter, so if you're just starting out but have a wealth of personal experience you might be perfect. Some owners require a lot of history and experience, for others it's more important that you have the right attitude, enthusiasm and to show willing. Everyone has to start somewhere!

Are you an agency?

No, we are a directory and promotion facility that gives you access to job listings. We take no commission or success fees.

Will I definitely get work?

Unfortunately there is no guarantee of work in this industry and we make no such claim� - anyone who tells you otherwise is lying! However we do our utmost to promote you and provide you with the latest vacancies giving you a far greater chance of success. So whilst we can't offer guarantees we can get as close as possible!

I am under 16, can I still join?

Unfortunately due to legal reasons the minimum age for joining this site is 16 years old. You are welcome to join when you hit 16 though!

Will I need to give up my day job?

Not unless you want to, or get so much work that you have to! A lot of people do this as a hobby, especially at first, and some people are lucky enough to be working pretty much constantly. It's all up to you!

How much does it cost?

We have a range of subscriptions starting from as low as 13p per day. These are paid on an automatic recurring basis (through Paypal for your security and peace of mind) and this gives you full access to apply to as many jobs as you like, and to create your own promotional page. Just one new client could pay a whole years subscription over and over again! And remember: we do not take commission from what you earn-it is all yours to keep.

How do I join?

It's quick and easy to join - click on the 'Register' link at the top of the page or 'Join Now' on the left hand side and fill in the short registration form. (You will receive a confirmation email with your chosen username and password in case you forget in the future). Then login, pay your subscription and you can create your profile and apply for those jobs straight away!

Managing your profile

From your account page you can: view and edit your profile at any time, change your account details, add and manage pictures/video, send and receive mail to other members. Remember - promotion is everything so provide as much info as you can on your profile as you don't know who might be viewing it!

Managing Pictures

You can upload up to 3 pictures for your profile (the first will be used as your thumbnail picture in searches) and change them whenever you like. These can be in any of the following standard picture formats - .jpg .gif .png. but must be less than 2mb in size.

Managing Video

If you wish to upload a video it needs to be in a mov, mpeg or avi format and be less than 8mb in size.

What do I do if my video is in the wrong format?

You can find free downloadable software online if you need to change the format of your file for the site. Alternatively you can email us at info@dogwalkingnow.co.uk and we will be able to encode your files for you for a small fee.

How do I find out about jobs?

All current job listings are shown on our website which we suggest you check regularly. We also send a weekly email of the latest jobs, plus ad hoc emails of any urgent vacancies to ensure you don't miss your chance.

How do I apply for jobs?

We've designed DogWalkingNow.co.uk to make it very easy and effective for you to apply for jobs. You simply view the job that you are interested in and then click 'Apply for Position'. The Dog Owner will automatically receive an email with your name and email address, saying that you're interested in the job and a link to your profile page for them to click through and look at. So make sure you have everything you want on your profile page to sell yourself!

What happens after I've applied for a job?

If the owner likes you they will be in touch via email.

Can I unsubscribe to Emails?

Yes, click here to unsubscribe to emails.

What if I want to cancel my membership?

If you decide to no longer use our service you need to cancel via Paypal. Click here for instructions. Note: This needs to be done at least 24 hours prior to your next payment date. Once cancelled you will still have full access to the site for the remainder of the current payment term and no further payments will be made. We do not offer refunds for failure to cancel in time.

What if I want to delete my profile from this site?

If you decide you no longer want to be on our site email info@dogwalkingnow.co.uk with Delete' and your username in the subject box. Note once we delete your profile we cannot retrieve it again. If you have an active subscription to Dog Walking Now first cancel that and then once its expired request us to delete your profile.
