About Me/ Company
Hi to all animal lovers.
I have previously been on this site as a dog walker, sitter etc however since moving further a field and taking on a whole new project I have reapplied and need my profile changing as I now do not do dog walking. I have not yet updated my website but a fair bit still applies. I have now moved to a 26 acre Farm, Namely Organic Orchards just outside of Saffron Walden. I am currently working on the farm and trying to turn it around and make a sucess of the place. I have two ex puppy farm bitches currently (I will probably rescue more, a rescue here is my end goal) and the most recent addition is an abondoned feral kitten and soon to have llama and horses so bit animal mad. With this in mind the dogs I will care for MUST be animal safe and a good recall essential. This is an ideal place for dogs to be free and enjoy the beautiful surrounds, we are surrounded by counrtyside on a no through road! I have years of experience caring for animals and doggies will be treated with compassion and kindness, which is key when working with all animals, as well as trust and realiability to ensure owner peace of mind.
I now offer pet sitting and doggy daycare. I will cater for other animals too, occassionally puddy cats (one at a time), birds, reptiles, small furries, big furries and even the rarer invertebrate pets. I also have previous equine experience owning and riding in the past, probably a bit rusty on the riding side but can easily care for your horses or ponies.
Previous Experience
I grew up on open farm, this is where my passion for animals began, we had all sorts; goats, sheep, pony, donkey, chickens and ducks, and a farm is nothing without your essential farm cat and dog. As a child this clearly wasn't enough so i then insisted i needed small furry creatures including rabbits, ginue pigs, mice and gerbils. And if this wasn't enough i went onto have giant bullfrogs, garta snakes and water dragons lizards.
At school i volanteered every weekend at an animal rescue charity for approximately 2 years, which cemented my desire to work with animals and this was where i met a visiting tutor from writtle college scouting for new students and that was where my studies began.
The last job before I took on this place was Managing an open Farm Park back in West Essex, where I homed my previous skills working with ponies, Llama, alapaca, pigs, cattle, sheep, goats, reptiles and even some exotics meerkats and monkeys, although this is what led me to want to do it myself so here I am!
Qualifications & Training
I studied a BTECH National Diploma in animal care (Writtle College) and was awarded a distinction, as well as in my CENTRA small animal handleing certificate also obtained whilst at Writtle college.
I then went onto Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge and Studied a BSc Hons Degree in Animal Behaviour and Ecology & Conservation where i was awarded a 2:1. My experience over the three years and the knowledge i gained covered many differtent aspects of the animals world and went far beyond my expectations.
