About Me/ Company

Mind Your Pets is a caring family owned professional pet care and pet sitting service based in Hertfordshire, serving Hemel Hempstead and surrounding areas, driven by myself, and my husband.

We personally undertake all assignments ourselves, other than exceptionally busy times, where we will check the availability of one of our small team of Pet Sitters. Like us, they are huge animal lovers, fully insured, licensed by the local authority and police checked.

We have been running an established Pet Care business since 2004, starting with rabbit and small animal boarding, we eventually responded to client’s popular demand and expanded our services to offer an alternative to kennels and catteries. These services include: dog walking, home dog boarding, puppy visits, dog sitting and cat sitting, dog grooming by City & Guilds Trainee (student prices) - we are there for your loved ones, when you can't be, leaving you guilt-free and with peace of mind.

Previous Experience

We are both experienced in animal care, growing up in families with many pets, ranging from guinea pigs, to cats, to dogs. Sheba was our much loved German Shepherd.

As a child, I always had pet rabbits and my enthusiasm later progressed to becoming a registered rabbit breeder, for a number of years with the British Rabbit Council, breeding and showing Dutch rabbits.

We have had established boarding facilities for rabbits and small animals for seven years, and more recently, through our business, Mind Your Pets, many different adorable dogs have come to us for their holidays and walkies, and without exception, all of their owners have been delighted with their care - written references available.

Qualifications & Training

Mind Your Pets has full comprehensive Petsitting Insurance, has been vetted by the local authority and issued with a Home Dog Boarding License, we are also individually Police checked (CRB). We meet all the necessary qualifying criteria to deliver a first class, trustworthy service to our clients.

We are a member of National Associates of Registered Petsitters (NARPuk).

We also have a trainee Dog Groomer within our ranks! Our son is currently undertaking City & Guilds L2 Dog Grooming training at Oaklands College, St Albans, supported by a part-time trainee position at a local Grooming Centre.

Relevant Info

We have a large secure enclosed garden, with lockable wrought iron gates. We are also just a few minutes walk away from woods and fields. We only board dogs from the same family together, at any one time.

Dog Walking - £10 an hour.
Home Dog Boarding - 1 Dog £20 per day, 2 Dogs (same family) £30 per day.
Cat & Pet Sitting - £8 a visit.
Rabbit Boarding - 1 rabbit £3.50 per day, 2 rabbits sharing £5.00 per day.
