About Me/ Company

Hi, my name is Cheryl and I run Leaps and Bounds. Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile. I know it requires an enormous amount of trust to leave your pet in the care of someone else, so let me tell you a little about myself and hopefully put your mind at ease!

I have shared my life with animals from a very young age; as a child I cherished my adorable rabbits and intriguing hamsters, later fell in love with nimble mice and cheeky rats. As is every young girl's dream, I shared my home with some faithful dogs, our calm and forgiving greyhound, Billy, and my faithful Labrador Hooch, who taught me so much about dogs before making his journey across the rainbow bridge.

As an adult I have shared my home with some delightful characters, including Bella and Sam, wonderfully intelligent and energetic border collies, and Alice, a loyal but cheeky Jack Russell Staffie cross.

My love of animals led me to work at a rescue centre for four years, and although I no longer work there, I remain involved in the world of animal rescue, firmly believing that every animal has the right to happiness, and the love of a kind owner.

It is my pleasure now to be able to share my love with a growing number of animals through Leaps and Bounds, and to hopefully make their humans' lives a little easier too!

I have a special passion for troubled dogs, and will never turn away a client just because their dog may not be keen on other canine company, or because they may be a little shy. I have worked and lived with many fearful and fearfully-aggressive dogs, so you can rest assured your dog will be in competent, compassionate hands, and will be able to enjoy their walk safely.

Previous Experience

I have four years' experience working at a busy dog rescue centre, working with a huge range of different dogs, from small to large, calm to excitable, and everything in between. I have handled many fearful and fearfully-aggressive dogs.
