About Me/ Company

V.I.Pets is based in central Reading and covers Reading and the surrounding areas. We're available 7 days a week and are fully insured and police checked.

Previous Experience

V.I.Pets was founded and is run by myself, Katy Doughty. I grew up around dogs and fish before getting my own assorted small mammals as I grew up. My love of animals led me to enrol at Merrist Wood College in 2007 and complete my BSc (Hons) in Animal Behaviour and Welfare.

As part of the course I have worked with a vast range of animals including small mammals, livestock, birds and birds of prey, exotics, reptiles, cats and dogs. I have also worked in several public and private zoos with larger and more exotic animals and have worked with animal trainers on several movie/media shoots.

Along with the classroom based theory learnt as part of the course I have a wide range of practical experience in the care, husbandry and training of many different animals and can help you find the right service to care for your pets. As part of the course I have experience with animal first aid in the unlikely event of an emergency.

We can offer cover for most pets including dogs, cats, small mammals, rodents, birds, fish, exotics and reptiles. Please note we cannot offer cover for poisonous animals or animals classed as dangerous by the Dangerous Wild Animals Act.

Other Services

DOG WALKING
Group or solo walks available. All dogs walked locally so as to minimise stress from transport. Dogs walked on or off the lead at your request. Collection and drop off to your door. Prices from £7 for a half hour walk or £10 for an hour. Additional dogs charged at lower rates.

PET DAY CARE
We can help you look after your pets whilst you are at work or away for a few days. We can offer a drop in service with between 1 and 3 visits a day. We'll feed, change waters and clean out your pets accomodation as well as monitoring your pets health. For longer trips away we recommend pet sitting for dogs due to their social nature. Prices from £5 per visit, discounts offered for combinations of animals or services.

PET SITTING
Live in pet sitting at your house. Ideal for dogs or cats that benefit from having more attention then provided by drop in visits. This service also provides piece of mind to you knowing that someone is keeping an eye on your house whilst you are away. Prices from £25 per night with discounts for any additional other pets. We can also offer additional services such as putting your bins out or watering plants.

EVENING FEEDS
Late nights at the office or just a night out with friends? Worried about your pets evening meal? We can offer a evening feed service where we will feed your pet and if necessary let them into the garden. £4 a night plus £1 for each additional pet.

PET TAXI
Need to get your pet to the vets or boarding kennels? V.I.Pets can help you transport your pet safely and securely at a time thats right for you. We can also offer transport to major airports including Heathrow and Gatwick. Prices from £5 dependent on distance travelled. Discounts available for one way journeys.
