About Me/ Company

About Porthos & Pals.

Hi, I'm Sara. I live with my husband and our young daughter and we all love animals dearly. We also have our own dog called Porthos and have two cats, Lord Vadar and Cleo (who is a rescue cat from Cyprus who is now 19 years old and still going strong). We live in a victorian, well maintained terraced house in Clayton Bridge, Manchester. The house is all open plan so plenty of room for your pet(s), with the appropriate flooring. We also have a secure garden at the rear and we are fortunate to have a fantastic park within a stones throw from where we live, with plenty of grassy fields for your dog to have a good play and run around (if required) in a safe environment.

I have plenty of experience in pet care and boarding, doggie day care, sitting and walking dogs of all breeds and sizes. I have regular clients who will travel far and wide for their pets to stay with me, even at short notice/in emergencies. I am fully licenced with the local council, DBS clear and I am fully qualified in pet first aid. I am also registered with companies/websites such as Holidog, Tailster, Dog Walking Now and Care.com. I can also supply references if required, so please do not hesitate to call or email me so that I can discuss your requirements that suit your needs.

About Porthos - He is a gentle, fun loving, 2 year old Beagle and he loves to make friends. He is very playful and adores our two cats, especially Vader and it is fantastic to watch them play together and Porthos being so gentle with him. Cleo (being quite old) loves being preened by him.

At Porthos & Pals, we value the love and care that should be given to animals, especially when you have to go away or are away at work for most of the day. We know it can be worrying or daunting when this happens (especially if you are considering leaving your beloved pet in kennels/catteries), so please be assured that your pet will always stay with us and cared for as if they are our very own. We can give you reassurance and peace of mind by offering a reliable service you can trust and count on time and time again. We will be at home during the day and in the evenings. We will follow your instructions regarding your pet’s usual routine; just tell us how many walks your dog has a day, what time they have their meals (including the administering of any medication if needed), where they like to sleep and their whole routine is kept the same. Your dog will wear a special Porthos & Pals Dog Tag during their stay with us, so you can be rest assured that while you on holiday etc, your dog will be having lots of fun too. Furthermore, we have access to the largest pet hydrotherpay and swimming centre in the North West, which is just around the corner from our home.

Previous Experience

Firsty, I have always had cats and dogs in my life. I gained my professional experience from working with companies such as Holidog etc. I mainly boarded and walked dogs whilst their owners went on their holidays, were out at work (providing day care) and on some occasions in an emergency at short notice.

I hold a qualification in Pet First Aid/CPR.
I also have years of knowledge and experience. I like to work hard to achieve the best out of myself.

PET SERVICE COSTS

Pet Sitting/Dog Boarding:

Initial Meet & Greet: Dog Boarding/Doggie Day Care - You come with your dog to our home to meet Porthos for a familiarisation visit and complete all neccessary documentation. Pet Sitting/Dog Walking/Day Care - I will come out to meet you and your pets, become familiar with your house, pick up keys and complete all the necessary documentation. - BOTH SERVICES FREE OF CHARGE.

Pet Sitting: (Subject to Avilability) - £35.00 per night.

Dog Boarding/Doggie Day Care (Dog size dependant):

Small Dog: Small Terrier (Border, Westies, Yorkies etc)/King Charles Cavalier Spaniel etc - £20.00 per day

Medium Dog: Beagle/Cocker or Springer Spaniel etc - £25.00 per day

Large Dog: Labrador/German Shepherd etc - £30.00 per day

Additional Pet: Boarding/Pet Sitting/Day Care - £5.00

Our Doggy Dare Care service can include other activities such as hydrotherapy/dog swimming etc. Please call for prices, we would be glad to cater for your needs.

Dog Walking: 1 hour walk, play, drying and changing of water - £9.00

30 minute walk, play, drying and changing of water - £6.00

Home Services

Home Security Check (No Pets): Includes bringing in the mail, switching on/adjusting lights, putting out the bins and watering plants etc - £5.00 per day

Spare Key Delivery (Locked out): If we hold a spare key on file, we will attend your property to let you in if you get locked out - FREE

Cat Care: We can feed every day, change water, clean up mess and change cat litter, brush if needed, medication administered - £5.00 per visit

(We can also cater for other pets such as hamsters, birds etc)

After Hours Visits: (Visits that occur before 9am or after 5pm) - Add £5.00 per visit

Holiday (Public) Visits: A surcharge will be added for the following days for all our services; Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Eve, New Year’s Day and all Bank Holidays including Easter and Sunday's.

All dogs need to be up to date with worming, flea/tick treatments , Vvccinations and insurance.
Please note we are not liable for any vet bills and 3rd party claims. All pet services are subject to our full 'Terms and Conditions' which we will be more than happy to supply on request.
