About Me/ Company
Hello and welcome, my name is Amanda and I live in Hampshire. I am a very trustworthy, reliable and friendly person. I am passionate and a lover of dogs big or small.
I have always had dogs in my family from when I was little. These were mainly Yorkshire Terriers and also a German Shepherd. I know how to be around a dog and have always treated other dogs with alot of love and like they were one of the family. Sadly, I lost my Yorkshire Terrier in December 2010 and he has been a great loss to me and my family.
After giving dog walking/sitting a great deal of thought I have decided to set up my own business, which I will love and enjoy as I will be working with my favourite animals in the world: Dogs! Paws For Thoughts caters for all your doggie's needs. Nothing is too big or too small.
When I take dogs out for a walk I like to make it a fun experience for the dog. It is not just a walk, it is playtime for them to go for a run/jog with me and to have a mess around. When we go out I like to talk to the dog and praise them for the things they do.
Previous Experience
I have looked after all the dogs that have been in my family weather that be when my parents were away on holiday or when my dogs have been ill. I have also looked after my sister's dog too.
In the last couple of years of his life, my Yorkshire Terrier became very ill. I looked after him when he was diagnosed with diabetes and pancreatitis. I was shown by the vet how to do his insulin and was told all the information that I needed to know about his pancreatitis. If the symptoms were bad I would phone up the vets to get advice or I would take him there to have him looked at.
I enjoyed walking a lovely dog who is 13 years old called Holly. We were only able to go on a 30min walk around the park because of her age and medical condition. I get on well with Holly's owners and they will be using me again when their regular dog walker is unavailable.
I have also had the pleasure of looking after a 7 year old Cocker Spaniel called Emil. I have looked after him on odd days and have had him stay at my home on many occassions when his owner goes away.
I have looked after a few other dogs in my home overnight which have been a Jack Russell (Tin Tin) and a Cross Miniture Poodle (Ni Ni). Both such lovely dogs and a joy to have around. Both owner's will be using me again on a as and when basis.
