Welcome to Maid For Tails!

Maid For Tails is a pet care service set up to serve the needs of pet owners in Huddersfield, Halifax, Brighouse and surrounding areas. Dedicated to taking the stress out of pet ownership by providing honest, reliable and professional animal care services to the local area.

Reasons for choosing Maid For Tails:
- Your pet will be cared for by a qualified animal nursing assistant and British Horse Society groom.
- I am caring and experienced. Prior to starting this business I worked in a very busy small animal hospital and part of that time was dedicated to nursing emergency cases. I am an experienced pet owner and have owned horses for the last 20 years, competing at affiliated level in British Eventing, British Dressage and British Showjumping.
- I am police checked and fully insured so your home and pet are in safe hands.
- All sits and walks will be logged in your pet’s own log book.
- When you are away, I can update you regularly on how your pet is doing, with pictures. This can be via email, text, a phone call or facebook to your requirements.

Previous Experience

My name is Andrea Gibb. I live in Lindley, Huddersfield and started this business to help take the stress and worry out of pet ownership.

Having always had my own pets and a full-time job, I know how hard it can be to keep to a routine, with work or social commitments, and how hard it is to leave your pet when you want to go on holiday or are taken ill. Finding someone who you can trust to care for your pet as you would, and know what to do in an emergency, can also be a bit of a chore.

At the end of 2009 I left a career of 20 years as a senior manager in Banking to pursue a lifelong ambition to work with animals. Since then, I’ve worked in a very busy small animal hospital and part of that time was dedicated to nursing emergency cases. This work has enabled me to qualify as an Animal Nursing Assistant in 2011 and has given me a huge amount of knowledge and experience in the care and nursing of animals.

In terms of horses, I am a British Horse Society qualified groom (i.e. I hold a BHS Stage 3 certificate) and have competed at affiliated level in British Eventing, British Dressage and British Showjumping.

I am now studying in my spare time towards a degree in canine studies and animal behaviour at Myerscough College.
