About Me/ Company

Hello and thank you for viewing my profile. I am currently finishing off my degree in forestry part time and work in a pottery shop 2 days a week. On study days and days off I like to get out with my dogs for regular breaks whatever the weather so provide a dog walking service that complements this. I can also provide a dog and house sitting service for a few days if needed. I find that it is far less stressful for the dogs (and me!) if they are in their own homes however so cannot accept dogs into my home unfortunately. I have two very friendly collies, a female called Cali and a male called Harvey. Being collies, they need all the exercise they can get so unless there is a significant problem they will be joining me on walks. We like to get out for runs, swims and long mountain walks as often as possible and are happy to invite your dog along with us on our little adventures together!

Previous Experience

I have had dogs my whole life - a variety too! I was around Lhasa Apsos, Springer Spaniels, Staffies, Jack Russels, Collies and Labradors. The Jack Russel (My little Tinker...) was my first experience at having my own dog. This was a baptism of fire because she came to me already pregnant unbeknownst to me at the time... Luckily I was studying animal care and husbandry at the time and had completed a module on whelping. I helped delivered 5 healthy "God knows what they were crossed withs" and they all went on to happy homes. I studied animal husbandry for a year before moving over to wildlife conservation. On the husbandry course we learnt about basic care (grooming, clipping, worming etc..), nutrition, training (I am more a fan of positively reinforced training techniques) and exercise regimes. I have a good demeanor around dogs and understand the importance of exercise, attention and discipline for a well rounded companion. If a dog in my keeping seems to express challenging behaviours I will use my time with them to try and find a means of rehabilitating them and showing the owner if I find something that works - Its not just the walks that make for a well rounded dog and I try to provide this wherever I can.
